18 May – 31 May: Early Bird for everyone
Registration is open to everyone. Early Bird prices end on 31 May.

1 June: Regular registration begins
Rates will rise by 100 EUR.

14 June: Registration deadline for active participants
All convenors and presenting authors must confirm their attendance by registering by June 14 at the latest.
After June 16 we will withdraw all unregistered content.

Who should register?

Everyone wishing to attend the conference must register – panel convenors, authors, chairs, discussants, organisers, keynotes, plenary speakers, guests, volunteers, committee members and those without any specific role – MUST register and pay the fees in advance of the event. If you know that your fees should be waived (as a plenary speaker, volunteer etc.), the organisers will soon share a code with you that you’ll need to use upon registration.

Payment

Registration is by online form only. While you can pay immediately after completing your registration, it is not obligatory to do it at once. You will be emailed an invoice with payment information (for card or bank transfer). We’d ask that invoices be settled within 15 days.

Cancellations

Cancellations more than three weeks before the conference will be refunded, less a small amount (60€) to cover administrative and finance costs. Cancellations after that point (21 June 2024) will not be offered a full refund, due to costs already incurred. Refunds at that point will be discretionary.

Conference format

Registration is only possible for the full conference, there will be no day registrations.

The conference is face-to-face (f2f) only. Plenary sessions will be streamed; other virtual participation will not be facilitated.

Reduced fee vs regular fee

Given that lunch, coffee/tea and the social event are all included in the registration fee, the Reduced fee only applies to those in particularly constrained economic situations. Please use your own discretion on selecting this rate.

The Regular fee covers expenses and helps those in challenging financial circumstances to participate in this international conference. You are also supporting the two associations behind this conference, EASST and 4S, in their efforts of sustaining a diverse and thriving STS community.

Registration is now open. Please follow the link to enter our conference login environment:

What is included in the registration fees?

Besides access to all panels, Making & Doing program, events etc of the conference, the conference fees include 88 euro worth of lunch and coffee/tea vouchers and a ticket to the Forest Festival

The Forest Festival

The Forest Festival on 18 July provides an exciting moment for us to gather and celebrate outside of the confines of the conference. Based in the nearby city forest, the Amsterdamse Bos, delegates are invited to enjoy a complementary mini festival full of delicious food, lively conversation, and some nice surprises.

Volunteering

EASST and 4S membership

Being a member of EASST or 4S is not a requirement for presenting or convening at the conference. However, there will be a financial incentive to become an EASST or 4S member for all delegates, as non-members will pay a higher registration fee. You do not need to become a member of both if you wish to register as a member to the conference; one membership is enough.

Signing up for membership and paying the membership fee is a separate process from conference registration.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the associations, please follow the links below:
 EASST membership
 4S membership

Please note that these are two different associations with their respective fees, processes and contact emails!

Current and former EASST members can check and/or renew their EASST membership though the conference login environment (the login link is in the top right corner of this page). Once logged in, click the ‘Logged in’ drop-down menu and select Memberships. If your membership has lapsed, click on EASST, rejoin, and select the correct category from the drop-down menu.

4S membership is not visible in the conference login environment, it is administered by 4S separately. For any questions about 4S membership, please refer to the 4s website.
